Accreditation or approval?

Accreditation confirms competence: BELAC assesses it against EN ISO/IEC 17020.

Approval authorises a regulated task: the competent authority grants it.

For electrical installations, the two go together: the RGIE/AREI only approves a non-profit association accredited as a type A inspection body (Book 1, subsection 6.3.3.1).

We are:

  • approved by the FPS Economy for the inspection of low- and high-voltage electrical installations
  • approved by BRUGEL as certification body No. 07, for photovoltaic and cogeneration installations in Brussels
  • designated by the Minister of the Interior for T015-1 inspections
